People frequently complain that the Democrats fail because they're
reactive instead of
proactive. I won't argue that. As they say, a lie is halfway around the world before the truth is out the door...
And because I'm certain that the Progressive TeeVee Punditry hang around dKos awaiting my every post, I'm going to make a plea for some pro-activity here.
Well, below the fold...
Unless the President happens to be on vacation clearing brush, he will be making a State of the Union speech sometime soon (make sure to self-medicate well in advance if you plan on watching). Through either leaks or just common sense, we can probably guess what he's going to say: Everything's just fine and we're
turning the corner on the last throes.
So. Let's just say that over the next few Sunday mornings on the chatter shows that the Democrats get out and Pre-Spin the president's talking points. Shoot 'em down before they fly, so to speak. That way his SOTUS is reactive to the Democrats position. It's ok to say that "Y'know the President is going to say that the Iraqi elections changed everything, but they didn't..." or "You'll find that the President is taking the credit for the plans put forward by the Democrats - he's just parotting Jack Murtha's proposal..."
If enough topics are covered enough times, more than a few people may begin to doubt the words/lies that come out of The Simian Boy King's mouth.
UPDATED to add "9-11." Duh on my part...
