October 5th Walkout

A while back, I looked into obtaining the domain name, www.civildisobedience.com. It was not available, nor was it being used by anyone promoting it.

 It can be a powerful tool. We all know how Ghandi used it against the British in India, and we of course used it here against the war in Vietnam.

I think the time has come to use it again, in a big way. And a good start would be the planned October 5th walkout, organised by the site www.theworldcantwait.net. Walk off your job, walk out of your school..or just walk out of your house...and go some place public. With signs!

 Blogging is the best thing that has happened to the political arena in my lifetime...but there is still power in large public manifestations . ( Lopez Obrador did not succeed..but he sure got some attention!)

  in your zip code to connect with the event nearest you. In many places there are rallies and marches after 5.  Make some noise!

  both are promoting the October 5th walkout....

  No offense to the organizers, and I hope the response is overwhelming, but I am not willing to walk out of my job on a Thursday to protest, with the good chance that I will not have a job to walk out of come Friday.

  Have you tried civildisobedience.us? It's what I did when the .com domain I wanted wasn't available.

  I use GKG for $9 per year, no penalty for transferring - domain name is yours 100%.

    I went immediately to try and register the site...and it has been taken by a commerical site that sells "civil disobedience" items! Really rather sickening...
    But thanks very much for the suggestion...
