Dem Chair 9/11 Comm on Newsweek internet forum

Here is the link to the Internet forum which Newsweek is hosting with Lee Hamilton, the Democratic chair of the 9/11 commisssion.  You write in and submit questions and he will post his answers on Sept. 11th. I don't know when he receives them but it would be good to let him directly know our concern with its deliberte falsehoods which have a political propaganda purpose.

Now that Bill Clinton has demanded that the falsehoods be corrected or the ABC Mockumentary not be shown, lets get other important Democrats like Lee Hamilton, co-chair of the 9/11 commission to weigh in on whether Bill Clinton and the Democratic party should take the blame for George Bush's/Dick Cheney's failures at preventing 9/11.  

Remember we all know that a great deal about American history and politics from popular culture sources and the right wing is trying to create a false version of history with this spurious piece of fiction.

Last December, the 9/11 Commission issued a "report card," grading the government's efforts thus far to implement the panel's recommendations. The government got one good grade--an A- for its "vigorous effort against terrorist financing"--but F's, D's or "incompletes" in nearly half the categories, from airline-passenger screening to improving the first responders' communication system. At the time, commission co-chairs Lee Hamilton and Thomas Kean said they were disappointed, and concerned, at the lack of progress.

Lee Hamilton, who served as co-chair of the 9/11 Commission, is president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Until 1999, he was a congressman representing Indiana's Ninth District for more than 30 years, during which time he was chairman and ranking member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and chair of the Joint Economic Committee. He is also the co-author with Thomas Kean of "Without Precedent: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Commission," published by Knopf on Aug. 15.
