Check this out from wapo:
One lawmaker, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of alienating such voters, said wherever he goes, he hears from activists calling for Bush's impeachment. Cutting off funding for the Iraq war comes in a close second.
Impeachment is the deal and the time is now...
Will Dems heed the calls from voters to force a change in direction or a change in leadership from the White House?
Do Dems understand that voters voted for Dems like Jim Webb, John Tester and Joe Sestak willing to take really big challenges no matter the odds?
Voters rallied to the cause and courage of Webb and company. Markos has an excellent piece on Spitzer's ambitious program for positive change. And another even better post on taking marching orders from the American people, not the failed president.
Dem rule isn't either/or. Dems can chew gum and walk, and plan and improve and innovate and prosecute and impeach all at the same time. Can be done.
Americans are dying, in many cases literally, for want of real leadership in Washington, real accountability and real change.
Will Dems listen to voters and ignore White House games, flip op-eds penned by Bush sock-puppets and start dictating to this sorry-ass president, rather than playing silly word games with refugees from FOX?
Pelosi understands Americans want Dems to step up to the plate and knock a few out of the park. America already understands that Bush is universally loathed, even within his own party. Americans understand that it's time to call the McCain/Lieberman/Bush disaster in Iraq the failure that it truly is.
It's time to make crystal clear that the defeat of Bush/McCain/Lieberman in Iraq and ending their war crimes is NOT an American defeat, but the first step towards an American and a regional peace.
With Bush there can be no victory or peace for America at home or abroad.
It's time to remove this divisive, unhappy man who has done enough more than enough damage to the US to warrant impeachment a dozen times.
That is the message of November.
