The Rockridge Institute has just released the first episode of our new Rockridge Nation Video Series, featuring George Lakoff and others discussing a progressive vision for America.
This new video examines Speaker Nancy Pelosi's 100 hour agenda and the agenda that MoveOn.org members have proposed. George and our executive director, Bruce Budner, also identify a range of issues, from progressive family values to the commons, that are not yet part of the political debate.
In order to promote a future based on the values we share, progressives will have to raise these issues frequently. Subsequent episodes will discuss some of these emergent issues in greater detail.
The video appears on the Rockridge Nation web community that was launched last month, as will future videos in this series.
Rockridge Nation is proudly progressive, but not a partisan forum. We are motivated by the belief that the party affiliation of those in office is no guarantee that they will work to enact a broad progressive agenda. We believe that it is our responsibility to promote progressive values and identify issues that should be addressed through a progressive vision for our nation, including issues that politicians are not yet discussing. We've been glad to welcome a number of Daily Kos members there, and hope that you'll consider participating there as well.
We hope that you will find this and other videos in this series helpful. We are interested in your suggestions for future topics as well as ways to distribute these videos more widely.
