GMA, Regis & Kelly, The View, Eyewitness News (since forever), All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital (since 1979), Oprah, World New Tonight (since forever), Jeopardy, Dancing with the Stars, Extreme Makeover Home, Grey's Anatomy, Primetime, 20/20, Nightline (since day 1) & Jimmy Kimmel. (No links to them on this one - I'm sure you understand why).
Yeah, I know, I watch WAY too much television. My earliest memory is of seeing I Dream of Jeannie through the bars of my play pen. No joke. I wonder if that has anything to do with my ADHD, Bi-Polar, OCD, Anxiety issues. Hmmmmm. LOL
Anyway, in my defense, I work from home and the television is always on in the background. Imagine how many shows there really are when you ad all the other networks (including HBO, Showtime, FX, etc.). Thank god for DVRS!
Leap here...
Originally, I decided to stop watching Desperate Housewives, Lost & Boston Legal as well, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it, but I removed all news shows from my recording schedule immediately after they aired that movie (there were at least three shows I was really looking forward too). Once they’re canceled however, my home will be 100% free of the ABC network.
So, these are the shows I stopped watching in honor of the DISNEY/ABC Boycott after ABC aired their ‘Path to 9/11’ rewrite of history and which of course was done for the sake of a few delusional zealots’ obsession with President Clinton and blow-jobs who have infested the Disney Board. It’s really a shame.
I had honestly hoped that within a couple of years maybe some of the saner board members would take the company back from the sociopaths and I’d be able to go back to watching ABC. Seriously, letting go of ABC was a big deal for me, but it was obvious they hadn’t gotten the message.
Until airing this attempt at re-writing of our history, I had no idea whatsoever how far right Disney had become or even was (I'm sure some here would say they were always this way, only now having to stomach to show their true colors).
Of course my resolve only increased after watching events unfold with Spocko and KFSORadio in San Francisco and Good Morning America's subsequent hiring of hate monger, Glenn Beck - and by Diane Sawyer no less, was really the final nail in their already being lowered coffin, for me.
I also like to write letters – not so much to (most) advertisers, like many here did, but to newspapers, cable & television news networks and to congress (I love writing/ranting to/at Congress). ;-)
I love forwarding stories I see on here and other Democratic blogs to the papers and networks and this is what I primarily did during ‘Path’ and again with Melanie Morgan & KSFO and again with Glenn Beck.
I call it my part in "spreading the word."
I recently found the sight The Spotlight Project and as I was thinking most of the people I’ve been forwarding 5 or 6 stories a day to asking WHY??!?!!! Or WHY NOT??!!! or WHERE ARE YOU??!!! or WHY AREN'T YOU COVERING THIS!!??, I wold might get more attention (get them to act more often) if I back up a bit on the yelling and start sending stuff through their site. Not all, but more is going through them every day.
To me, spreading the "word" or "our word" is more important then always just giving my opinion (which I will do below for an entirely different matter but need to get it off my chest). There a lot that isn’t being focused on because of the media’s obsession with Britney’s bush or Paris’ partying, not to mention what Hillary & Nancy wearing for fucks sake! Yes, Chris Matthews! I'm talking to you! What's with chauvinistic pig routine? Or, is not a routine?
Sometimes I think they just need to be directed like a child would be with a school crossing guard. If that isn’t the case, please don’t ruin my delusion. My letters, faxes, emails & forwarding news stories is all I’ve got damn it! ;-)
Let me say we all do our part, in our own way, and this diary is about how I have been boycotting ABC & Disney ever since ABC aired 'Path to 911'. Others will and can do more than what I'm going to diary about and I salute you. This is how I am doing what I can.
And, how is your boycott of Disney/ABC going?

Finally, on a completely different issue and one that I know will piss off at least 19 of you:
I am really upset at how One Pissed Off Liberal has been treated on here. Not because people who disagree with him do so. That’s usually not a problem. He’s a big (?) and can handle it.
It’s how some of you do it.
What I’ve witnessed, especially in his most recent diary, "As a single-issue diarist, I have but one thing to say...", was the elitist crap by members who use (abused in my mind) their troll rating powers to TR him. I won’t names names, because some of you don’t like the spotlight shone back on yourself (sort of like Bill O’Reilly), but you guys know who you are. At present count, there are 19 of you. Of course that’s out of the OVER 200 who recommended his diary. The way I’ve been seeing your bullshit is like this:
You guys have become the DLC of Dailykos. You guys have been here "in power" (for lack of a better analogy) for FAR too long and it’s all gone to your heads. It’s really why I haven’t been posting anything on here lately. I’m not genius and my writing isn’t brilliant (nor is my research abilities), but at least I try to "live and let live." Once in a while I might jump in and freak (at the rampant anti-Semitism usually), but rarely. If you know you don’t like OPOL, his diaries or his attitude, then why even click on the links to them? Why not ignore them altogether? It’s sort of like the FOX loonies and right-wing, religious zealots complaining about shows and movies they would normally NEVER watch, but do so just so they can complain and rant and rave and TR. Change the channel.
I also have permission to use this picture. The artist gave everyone permission during the 2004 elections. I actually turned it into a 4' x 6' banner and flew it from a flag pole (at the Gay & Lesbian store I was working at at the time) for the Republican National Convention here in NY. The artist, who was marching up 8th avenue during the big protest saw it, loved it! He eventually gave me a signed print (lithograph I think)!
Creativity is a beautiful word. Pass it along.
