The Virginia Senate Privileges and Elections Committee just reported SB 840, a bill that requires voter-verified audit trails, or paper ballots for the English speakers reading this. The full Senate will vote on this in a matter of days, so it is critical that Virginians contact their state Senator without delay.
The State Board of Elections and all the registrars are fighting this. It is very difficult for a politician to say no to them, so it is critical that voters contact their representatives. Only a massive outpouring of support for Voter Verified audit trials will be sufficient to overcome the collective influence of the registrars.
The fight for paper ballots is now in the states. If you are not a Virginian, please find out what is happening in your state. Virginia Senators will not take kindly to out of state appeals, but your state representatives would be interested in hearing from you.
