As published on Slashdot, in their "Your Rights Online section:

"According to a front-page story by The Guardian, British authorities have identified Andrei Lugovoi to be the murderer who used radioactive pollonium-210 [sic: polonium-210] to kill Andrei Litvinenko. The British government will ask Moscow to extradite Lugovoi. The Guardian states: 'Associates of the dead man have repeatedly accused President Vladimir Putin's government of being behind his murder, a claim the Kremlin rejects. While it is known that detectives believe they have uncovered evidence pointing to Mr Lugovoi's involvement, it is not clear whether they have established a motive for the murder'"
Litvinenko's full story tightly parallels Bush's covert "intel" operations lying the Cold War's superpowers into wars for oil and tyrannical executive power on the pretext of "Islamic terrorism".
"British Police Identify Killer in Radiation Case"
Slashdotters, many of whom live in Russia, the UK, Italy and elsewhere the radioactive footprints wind through, are discussing the case.
As detailed in Litvinenko's book (with the surviving Yuri Felshtinsky), Blowing Up Russia, Putin's KGB chased and killed him for reporting his KGB investigations into the KGB operation to subvert drunken reformer Yeltsin's democratic upgrades to unlimited KGB power. Specifically the 1999 Russian apartment bombings which framed Chechen "terrorists" to trick Yeltsin into invading to preempt a largely KGB-invented "jihadist threat". The primary players in both the US Iraq War "intel" and the UK poisoning include Britain's intel community (this time apparently the victim, at least at first glance), like the hapless Brits (mis?) quoted by Bush in his famous SoTU 16 Words. And the Italian "security"/intel gangs connected to the Bush covert empire through their origination of the fake "Niger/Iraq uranium" story and this poisoning. Italy's crooked media monopolist PM Silvio Berlusconi, as well as Iran/Contra bankers BCCI and the Iran/Contra branch in Argentina of BNL.
The plot thickens, like glowing bloodclots.
