Assuming that this site, that I was pestered for weeks to visit, is more elaborate than a Yes Men project, it unfortunately seems real. I wish I'd seen it (and had a forum on which to spout off about it) and said something 10 years ago when it was hatched.
Project for a New American Century's statement of principles as of 1997
We aim to make the case and rally support for American global leadership.
snip
Our aim is to remind Americans of these lessons and to draw their consequences for today. Here are four consequences:
• we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global
responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;
• we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;
• we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad;
• we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.
Anyone with the morbid curiosity to read "supremecist" writings can see this for what it is - a public announcement of their sociopathic, totalitarianist, ethnocentric veiws. W isn't directly listed, but some interesting names from todays headlines are. Strange, wording those bullets as consequences way back in 97. Perhaps they
Elliott Abrams Gary Bauer William J. Bennett Jeb Bush
Dick Cheney Eliot A. Cohen Midge Decter Paula Dobriansky Steve Forbes
Aaron Friedberg Francis Fukuyama Frank Gaffney Fred C. Ikle
Donald Kagan Zalmay Khalilzad I. Lewis Libby Norman Podhoretz
Dan Quayle Peter W. Rodman Stephen P. Rosen Henry S. Rowen
Donald Rumsfeld Vin Weber George Weigel Paul Wolfowitz
meant that they would be consequences of giving them power. They apparently (as of 10-13-5) think the CIA is a failure and want to give it's overseas inteligence duties over to office of the director of national intelligence. Wow, an org that has Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby and Jeb want to reign in control of what spys can find? Did the CIA fail to say "yeah whatever you say we found, it's real"?
And then there's Kagan....he's got a book out pontificating American superiority over the world and picks first on Europe, claiming they are not "in the same world"
Scroll down on this PDF to the first blockquote and you will find this
ESTABLISH FOUR CORE MISSIONS for U.S. military forces
-Defend the American homeland
-fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theater wars
-perform the "constabulary" duties associated with shaping the security environment in critical regions
-transform U.S. forces to exploit the "revolution in military affairs"
This was their September 2000 publication. They've had these goals for quite some time, and as soon as they had an in at the white house, they spew this and look for any reason to set this in motion. It goes on to talk about a "two war standard", WMD's and why we should get more nukes, how Reagan "won the cold war" and how they can use his great wisdom in this century, accusing Clinton of underminig U.S. forces, Iraq, Iraq, Korea, Iraq, "controlling space and cyber space". If you get more than half way through, then your stomach is stonger then mine.
They wanted wars (two war standard) just to punk the world. This group was formalized in 97. They worship Reagan. You want to know what Bush is gonna say next? It is published on that site and approved by that group before his speechwriter gets an outline. Libby and Cheney's contempt for the CIA? Published years ago. They've "made an example", now they're working on the getting off scot free part. They've wanted nukes and wars and to take down Saddam for over a decade. None of this was reactionary. None of it was defense.
What is the difference between "going on the offensive in a global war (on terror)" and being the aggressor in a world war????? Global/world, world/global, offensive/aggressor. One sounds nicer? Fucking semantics are keeping them in office? They have soiled our reputation. They obviously have no realistic grip on the concept of patriotism that involves respecting your country. Their paraniod skitzoish "their all out to get us" so lets stock up on duct tape, plastic(tinfoil) and weapons attitude is proof that they have no business being let free to roam in the daylight of our society. Impeach ALL of them. They want a space station on the moon? Good build a prison up there and stick the lot of them in it. I'm sick of hearing about the get out of jail free "presidential pardon" card. Start the proceedings.
If I see Bush try to snuggle up to Pelosi for a photo op one more time, I just might vomit on my own shoes. Darth Cheney and his neocon daughter can share shit tacos in prison together. Scooter is not falling on his sword for anyone and he is no noble foot soldier taking the heat for his king. Let his jury be full of his (rabid dogs ready to eat their young) peers. As for Jeb, stay home, we aren't buying anymore broken, diseased trash from your families political garage sale. Kristol and Kagan, you just might qualify for electro shock therapy, you walking embodiments of Pinky and The Brain. Condi, fucking band nerd, have a harmonica if they're still allowed (probably not) in holding cells. Rummy, jumping ship doesn't cut it, and it doesn't raise you above the status of a dingleberry hanging from a dogs ass. As for W's moonie ("it's just a number")parents, let them dig by hand (and I mean by hand without shovels) the graves of every soldier who's lost their life to the agenda of they and their spawn.
