I almost don't know where to start this story, but honestly, you just can't make this stuff up.
This has been going on in Boston today:

BOSTON -- Five "hoax devices" were found at several Boston locations Wednesday, hours after officials detonated a suspicious package on an elevated structure above the Sullivan Square Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority station.
How does this involve me? Because one was stuck on the air conditioner that juts out my office window. And Homeland Security is removing it right now.
All the devices are now being described as "Hoax Devices" But this morning the discovery of the first hoax forced the closuer of 1-93 causing major backups.
Now, at about 1pm, my employee sitting in the office was startled by loud knocking. When he opened the door the bomb squad came rushing in. As they looked out the window, my employee could see said device stuck on the AC unit. Now my employee, no expert, could see right away there was no way this thing was a bomb or that it even looked like one. I won't go into detail as to not hurt any investigation, but I heard what it looked like and it didn't sound scary to me at all.
Since then, 30+ officials have been swarming around, asking questions and so on. They wanted to know if we had disgruntled customers - to which my employee asked "why would a disgruntled customer of ours try to shut down a highway miles from here? Oh, and by the way, that thing doesn't look like a bomb"
As of now, officials are removing the AC from the window of my office so that they can test it and make sure it's safe.
I can't imagine how much money is being wasted right now. This is more a case of urban pranksterism than anything and if people would just use some common sense they would see that.
But common sense is as dead as the dodo.
