Just coming through .. the Norwegian parliment {which nominates people for the honor} has at least two votes for Al Gore.
Has there ever been a President that was a Nobel Peace Prize winner before they took office?

Al Gore Nobel nominee
The fight for the global climate is a fight for peace, say members of parliament Børge Brende and Heidi Sørensen, and they have nominated former US Vice-president Al Gore for a share of the Nobel Peace Prize.

There aren't many things that make me proud to be an American these days.
That just did, though.
Thank you Al Gore, for showing the world that perhaps we Americans are not all monsters, after all. This can only help to provide even more of a bully pulpit for Al to put forth his message about global warming.
{I'm almost tempted to tune in Rush Limbaugh tomorrow to hear the pig squealing .. nah, I'll let Stephanie Miller do that, and listen to Jim Ward vocally moon Rush}
A little more digging:
There were 191 nominations last year. While the Nobel Committee will not divulge information about nominees or those who nominate for 50 years, people are free to announce independently on their own who they have nominated.
So there may be more than two people nominating Al Gore. Jimmy Carter does come to mind, as Buffalo Girl offered up as a possiblity.
