Why all the focus on Joe Biden? He has exactly ZERO chance of the nomination.
It's a losing proposition for us to eat our own. Especially since he is not a frontrunner. Why bother?
Let me backtrack just a bit, I don't think it's bad to discuss where our candidates stand on issues or what their record is. For instance, what IS Biden's record on civil rights issues? Does anyone know? Or are we going to simply jump on the soundbyte bandwagon to decide about a person's character. If you want to do that, let's poison Republican waters.
If you want to so that, I'd rather talk about John McCain.
John McCain, maverick, considered honest and forthright by some:
From Media Matters
Who is McCain campaign manager Terry Nelson? And will the media tell us?
[snip]
- Nelson was responsible for a television advertisement attacking Senate candidate Rep. Harold Ford Jr. that many criticized as racist.
- Last year, the indictments of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) on campaign finance-related charges alleged that Nelson was the conduit for money transferred through the Republican National Committee (RNC) between DeLay's political action committee and Republican Texas House of Representatives candidates.
- Questions have also been raised regarding his knowledge of the 2004 New Hampshire phone-jamming scandal. Moreover, Nelson's consulting firm employs a former adviser to Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, whose 2004 campaign tactics McCain himself called "dishonest and dishonorable."
Think about the recent misinformation campaign suggesting that Hillary Clinton lied about Obama's early schooling. We can OBVIOUSLY expect more of this sort of thing; and although we may not yet know the source of this particular outrage, Nelson has the history. McCain hired him for his experience.
McCain's forthrightness is an act. He even hired this man, Nelson, who is tied to the swiftboating of John Kerry - another decorated Vet:
Nelson's consulting firm, Crosslink Strategy Group, counts Chris LaCivita among its employees. While working for a separate Republican strategy firm in 2004, LaCivita was a paid consultant and media adviser to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth...
