The married duo of James Carville and Mary Matalin are regular speakers at various conferences. Just for example this year, they'll be speaking at conferences for:
National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Organizations
American Optometric Association
Independent Community Bankers of America
American Health Care Association
And that was just from a cursory Google search.
I've watched these two on various political talk shows, and I really find it uncomfortable to watch them. First of all, they seem relatively unlikeable, and secondly, when they actually interact, it is a bickering act of politics. Most of us have been around a bickering couple in real life, and it's not particularly enjoyable.
So why would associations pay to have these two bring their gig to their annual show? I have my own theories, but there is the possibility that it is the pure entertainment/infotainment value. So, has anyone here actually attended an event where they performed live? And if so... what was it like? Was it useful? Was it entertaining?
