This will be a rather shortish diary.  I'm really tired trying to get my house all ready for you guys.  This is what I'm up against:

That's the hole left in my newly painted wall after the electrician moved my meter to the back of the house for $1000 more than estimated and it's still in the wrong place.  (You're welcome, I deleted all the f-bombs from that sentence).

Whatever...I think in about a year or two, I'll be able to discuss this without a lot of cussing.

I did some more planting and we'll even have curtains.  I know this because I bought them.  I'm not promising they'll be hung up by then, but you can see them in the packaging.

You can check out my previous diary on this whole thing.

That being said, I'm going to be extremely lazy and just copy the second half of my last diary.

The Fabooj FAQs...

I posted a poll on the SoCal Kossacks Yahoo Group page and a whopping 85% (teehee) say that March 25th is the best day for them.  I agree, as that gives me time to clean and fix that flippin' hole.

When will this extraordinary shindig take place?  2pm, Sunday March 25th

What magical land will I be traveling to?  I live in El Sereno, a small slice of LA, squashed between Lincoln Heights, Alhambra and Montecito Heights.  It's about 10 min. north of the 10 Fwy.

I could give you some drive times, but I tend to do about 80 - 95mph and therefore have an under-inflated sense of how long it takes to get from one place to another.  I can tell you that from our old place off Melrose & Fairfax to our new place took 20 - 30 min. with most of the headache going to the circle of hell between the Melrose onramp and the 110 interchange.

What edible delights should I bring to tantalize your taste buds?  Please bring a side dish.  I don't eat pork or squash--hint, hint.  I also will not be offended if someone brought that chocolate-coffee-ice cream cake thingy from Trader Joe's.

We'll get some various meat to put on the grills.  My husband will do his best to get you drunk, so please make it clear if you don't drink.  Naturally, there'll be water, sodas and juices for those who abstain and anyone who may be pregnant and/or underage.  Feel free to bring a beverage of your choice.  We'll have tons of snackies and kid-friendly foods.

Speaking of my spawn, can I bring them?:  For some reason, I feel like I'm the only one in LA with little kids, babies really, but feel free to bring yours.  Keep in mind, my oldest is 3, so the toys pretty much top out at that age, but I do have an Xbox and a PS2.

Can I bring a friend in case you guys are exceedingly boring in real life?:  Bring whoever you want, as long as they don't steal my shit and don't have a crappy attitude, I'm okay with it.

So, how do you get to your pad?: Email me at my profile, but please put SoCal meetup in the subject line, so I don't dump it as spam.  Please include your screen name too, so I can get little jaunty name tags.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
