Cablevision's Optimum Online internet broadband became unusable for me. It was cripplingly slow. It was taking minutes to change screens rather than seconds.
I had to get rid of it and I replaced it with Verizon's FIOS. The internet FLIES once again for me now that I dumped Cablevision.
As I was looking through the channels I noticed there was CNN, HN, 3 CSPANs, Fox News, CNBC but, no MSNBC.
Jump over Imus, Matthews and Carlson for more....
Cablevision has an exclusive on MSNBC on Long Island and in NJ. Therefore, no MSNBC for me. At first I was pissed because I watch Imus, Chris Matthews and sometimes but not often Olbermann's "Countdown". Will missing those two shows make me mad?
Nope. Listening to Imus has become like being on an archaeological dig. You are continually looking for something worthwhile to justify leaving this constant annoying complainer on the TV for hours. You can have the show on for a few hours and if you are lucky, you get 5 minutes of good content, while suffering through all the trials and tribulations of Imus' life, his discussion about his 12,000 doctors, his lowlife friends and inferior humor. I watched it every morning while getting dressed and having breakfast waiting for this old bastard to provide something good and it hardly ever happened. Even his interviews with Dowd and Rich of the NY Times have been narcissistic rants about him. When I am in the car, I always chose Air America Radio over Imus.
I may miss Hardball a little but I really can't stand Matthews and what, if any, value goes on there? How many more asses can Mike Barnacle kiss? How often do you want to hear how much Matthews wants to be a Republican like his brother and father and how often he hangs out with Republicans?
People who come on both of these shows change, depending on who the host is. Howard Feinman is very critical of Democrats and shows too damn much respect for Bush on Imus and Hardball and yet on Olbermann's Countdown (or on Air America) you'd think he hates Bush. Barnacle mirror images whatever host whips his ass.
At 6:00PM MSNBC brings us Tucker Carlson and that is one lying SOB who I will not miss. MSNBC has been a bad habit that's being removed.
I just don't like having something taken away from me by the likes of Charles Dolan and Dan Abrams. For a year we had no Yankee games on TV, which was a real loss. Dolan is doing what he can legally to survive because his inferior cable broadband cannot compete with super fast fiber optics.
Now the Law of Unintended Consequences will start to work its magic, as people will leave Cablevision in droves, once they hear about how fast FIOS is. MSNBC's audience will dwindle and so it should. I will miss Keith but whenever he says something good it's on You-Tube anyway.
And let's face it; the only place to get real news is right here on the DailyKos.
