A community calls the "Easter Bunny" the "Spring Bunny."
"Why are people so afraid of Christianty?"
- Generic Bleached Bighair Fox Bimbo
Wanut Creek renamed the Easter Egg hunt the Spring Egg hunt. Fox reports this "has sparked outrage." Really, how much "outrage?" Outrage being some guy that wrote a letter to the editor. He is now on Fox News. The egg hunt was renamed 5 years ago, but went unnoticed until a former newspaper reporter named Michael Runzler wrote his letter to the editor
Most newspaper articles note that the Easter Bunny is a pagan symbol which has nothing to do with

If anything, Christian fundementalists would probably want the anthropomorphic fertility rabbit banned, lest the egg hunt degenerate into traditional pagan orgies.
But a new book confirms what we have suspected all along, that many of the people that are most militant about the absolute accuracy of the Bible are illiterate about their own religion.
Hats off to the Washington Post for reviewing the book RELIGIOUS LITERACY What Every American Needs to Know -- and Doesn't

which finds that Americans describe themselves as one of the most religious countries on Earth, but are also the most ignorate about Christianity. Few people know very much about their own religion, let alone other religions. Knowledge of the Bible is roughly as bad as their knowledge of the Constitution and history, which is to say that they know virtually nothing. If you told them that the Easter Bunny was now the King of America, they'd believe you.
Of course, all of this Fox agitprop is really about providing cover for the GOP's war on religion, a decades long program to fracture mainstream churches and split off radical congregations that will support war and torture
