While we are seeing on several domestic fronts some successes, there are foreign developments that will cause more fear, uncertainty and doubt, especially regarding Iran. It is as if there's a search for a cause for war on the part of US and Iran, and now we have this story--a top Iranian general kidnapped by Israel or defected?
ABCNews reports this:
Israel Puts Embassies on Security Alert Following Reports It Kidnapped Iranian
UPDATED BODY
Whether the general defected with help from Western nations as some say or was kidnapped as Iranians alledge, Israel believes that Iran now has a major reason to lash out at Israel.
We've already attacked an Iranian embassy. How many more insults will Iran bear before it feels a need to really lash back?
My point in diarying this is to ask Kos readers to consider behavior - how Israel and Iran are reacting to this story, and not to focus on determining the truth or falsity of story elements. Iran sees a provocation by the West, and I don't think they see Israel as separate from 'the West. Israel sees a threat that is causing them to put all their embassies on alert around the globe. That suggests there is a serious aspect to this story others have missed so far, and one in which conflict is foreseen and anticipated.
