I had some time on my hands last night so I clicked on Ann's site, and saw an ad for edmunds.com.
I didn't know what it was, so I clicked on it, then found the 'contact us' tab and wrote them a nice little letter.
I've pasted their response below. I haven't followed the Ann diaries for the last 48 hours or so, so if this is piling on, feel free to give me demerits or question my liberal credentials.
I thought it was a nice, timely response and I wanted to give them credit for doing the right thing.
Dear (RichmondLib),
Thank you for contacting Edmunds.com Customer Support.
Let us explain why you saw a promotion for Edmunds.com services on that website.
Edmunds.com, like many other websites, has an "affiliates" program (described at http://www.edmunds.com/... that allows unrelated third-parties to generate traffic to us. Those affiliates may place ads on other websites using our name and trademarks. Accordingly, while it may look as if Edmunds.com has placed the advertisement you saw, we didn’t do so.
We are grateful that you alerted us to this controversial Web site and we will request that our affiliate remove the Edmunds.com ad immediately.
Please also note that Edmunds.com, Inc. does not support any political parties nor does it support discrimination against any group. You may also appreciate the fact that Edmunds provides its employees with domestic partner benefits.
Sincerely,
Edmunds.com Customer Support

I've never heard of this service, but was introduced to it after seeing who was still advertising on www.anncoulter.com.
It's still a free country, and you're still free to advertise with the KKK, the Nazi Party, or Ann Coulter, but I'm just as free to stay as far away from your company as I can too. Maybe the baby seal clubbing website needs some more banner ads...
