Some of you know the name Adam Curtis for his extraordinary BBC News series, "The Power of Nightmares." If you haven't seen the series, here is Part One and, Part two and here is part three.
Mr. Curtis has a new series coming that is causing quite a stir. More below the jump.
Mr. Curtis's new series is called "The Trap." An overview of this new series is out in the British media and here are a couple of articles: this one from the BBC on a scroll page, and here is one from the Guardian's online service which studies the psychology of the documentary, and one more from Socialist Worker UK online. I would be remiss if I did not add a tip of the hat to Lenin.
This looks very promising.
Now for the other observations. To younger Kossacks: you may have heard to howling and the yowling of the right wing young Republican rockheads and rednecks about "lefty blogs" like Daily Kos.
Ummm brother, I got news for you.
Daily Kos is not, repeat NOT, lefty. In fact Daily Kos is what the DLC should be and would be if the real DLC weren't so cravenly Republican Lite/Blue Dog. Such real lefty blogs are Lenin's Tomb Jewssansfrontieres which is a bit controversial, and The Prole
So, when hear some right wing ya-hoo drawling and drooling out some sort of blather about Daily Kos, simply fart in his/her general direction, for if they really ever really saw a lefty blog, they'd have a paralytic stroke.
