The IRS recently stripped Savage's "Paul Revere Society" of its tax exempt status, apparently because it was being used as a tax shelter and slush fund for Mr. Savage's personal use. I'm sure you're all shocked, but I dug up his 2004 tax return.
ON EDIT: Can somebody with a guidestar subscription do the same thing for his 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 returns?
Everybody's favorite right wing douche runs something called the Paul Revere Society, which he has continuously hyped on his radio call in show. The society's website advertised plans to "educate the public" and fight vote fraud.
On June 5, 2006, the Internal Revenue Service stripped the Paul Revere Society of it's 501(c)3 tax exempt status. LINK
Looking at its tax return, available from guidestar.org, it's not hard to see why.

In its 2004 tax return, the Paul Revere Society reported $962,129 in assets, with income of $232,880, presumably donated by his listeners.
As far as I can tell, the money was used exclusively as a slush fund and tax shelter for Michael Weiner.
The society spent $1,948 in rental cars, $10,181 in bank fees, $3,699 in "entertainment," $750 for security service, $85,154 in fundraising solicitations, $8,653 for internet services, $19,984 in office expenses (presumably subletting office space from Michael Savage), $4510 for telephone service, $9000 in "outside services," $520 in travel, $13,366 in postage, and $3015 in "storage."
Of total 2004 expenditures of $178,215, only $18,606 were supposedly related to the stated purpose of the Paul Revere Society, the largest portion was spent of "postage."
Meanwhile total fundraising-related expenditures totaled $95,052.
There are only two directors of the Paul Revere Society, and no officers: Michael and Janet Weiner, each listed at 150 Shoreline Highway, Bldg E, Mill Valley, California 415-339-9540.
(1) Michael Savage aka Weiner was attempting to use 501(c)3 laws to evade taxes. He appears to have been using the Paul Revere Society to pay 100% of his website expenses, and some or all of his office's rent, and a variety of other expenses.
(2) He defrauded his listeners by claiming the money he was soliciting was going to charitable purposes, which it clearly was not.
You think the US Attorney's Office knows about this?
ON EDIT: As G2Geek writes below, Savage/Weiner still is claiming tax exemption on his website, even though the IRS has stripped him of tax exempt status.
