While we still don't know whether or not John Warner will step down in 2008, but that hasn't stopped Allen from vying to replace him
Granted this is the Washington Times, but knowing Allen, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a run. However, considering the fact that he ran one of the worst campaigns of 2006 (I'd say second worst after Katherine Harris), he's not the only Republican considering a run. According to the Washington Post, Tom Davis might also throw his hat into the ring should John Warner step down. Either way, both of them will lose to Mark Warner should he run (and I'm hoping he does, considering the fact that he gave up a bid for the Presidency, and a good chance of getting the nomination with it.)
