In this edition: looking at US Atty purge coverage; credit where it’s due section bigger than usual again; CBS’s Jim Axelrod’s brotherly US Atty connection; anyone want to cover AIPAC espionage trial? Good luck; Howard Kurtz’s TV show suffering ratings declines; ratings; and so much more...
Thoughts, and Then, the News
My general take on the media coverage of the US Atty purge is that it’s been 50/50. Generally, I think most have been pointing out the facts and doing debunking of spin at least part of the time, while not being as thorough as they should be the other half. It’s not consistent, but the media’s handled this better when it comes to debunking WH/GOP spin of previous scandals. I know, I know... the soft bigotry of low expectations.
Now for the news:
I don’t support her candidacy for president, but I do support her in her fight against jerks like Glenn Beck
Beck on Clinton: "[S]he’s the stereotypical bitch" I don’t think it’s just because I’m a woman, but this is definitely the type of thing that gets women voters to rally around her.
Bruce Barlett: Liberal Bias is Mostly Gone
Seriously, he said it.

Newsie’s Media News Report is a compilation of recent media news; it was formerly known as Media News Monday. If you have any media news to add, please do so. I don’t often post Media Matters stuff, because almost everyone already either links to or visits that site. Same with Greg Sargent’s The Horse’s Mouth at Talking Points Memo. I’ll post only if I’ve got something to add. For more RWCM watch & Media News: Penndit's News, Media News, and RWCM Watch Links.
