There's a war protest in Portland, Oregon. I'm going, but don't have a sign. I do have a flag, however, and I'm going to carry that. Here's why:
This is my country. My great-great-grandfather had to face the minie ball and the cannon's mouth at the Antietam under this flag. If he could do that, then I can at least carry it in a march among friends along a peaceful street on a sunny day.
I'm not going to let these fascists and war profiteers take my country's flag from me and I'm going to carry it to show the nation stands against them.
