If you want to watch a real-live political debate with real people asking big shots hostile questions, join me for "Question Time"
Tonight, the BBC invites regular folks to ask Benazir Bhutto, John Bolton, and three of Britain's most powerful Defence politicians ANY QUESTION THEY LIKE. And it's going out on BBC World Service for everyone to see.
What would you ask Bolton, or the Blair government that supported Bush into Iraq?
Update:
Highlights (for me) around the 34:00 Tony Benn brings up oil
Bolton admits Iraq is about oil and Israel. Hard on the heels Bolton disavowed US nation building.
I was already excited by the line-up and then at the end of the list of guests I learned that Bolton is going to have to face the music from hostile British citizens on camera!
Should be great.
I'll update later. Click the question time link on my blogroll and then play when the window opens up.
Bolton remembers that WMD were the reason, the US into Iraq.
Too many politicians on the panel and not quite the bite in the exchanges that I would have liked.
Still:
Bolton put OIL and Israel top of the list for reasons the US went into Iraq. Some fifteen minutes later, he remembered WMD.
He trashed nation building and left Democracy pretty much out.

Update II: What about that poor mother who lost her son in Iraq? The "safe areas" that the British turned over to Iraqis are too dangerous to conduct an investigation into his death.
"I'm proud of my son. I'm ashamed of my government that sent him to Iraq."
A mother confronting the UK Defense Minister about the death of her son.
That's the exchange that's resonating for me know. There were simply too many "important" people in the audience and on the panel. I would have liked to hear from more regular folks.
This should be good.
Enjoy!
