I have been working on a piece for my Daily Kos Diary, entitled "The Provocateur", describing how the Bush Administration is planning on provoking Iran into a war. However, I now believe that they have given up that plan, or at the very least, are shelving it temporarily. This administration changes tactics according to how well their "terror" rhetoric is working, how much power they feel they have left, or as diversions. With the recent developments in Congress, and with subpoenas at the ready, I believe they are planning on speeding up their war on Iran. Many, many people have warned that this Administration was planning on attacking Iran. No one listened. No one in Congress has attempted to stop the mad men in the White House. The news channels aren't reporting this, they are too busy discussing Tony Snow's cancer or Anna Nicole Smith. We must IMPEACH these criminals before it is too late!

WASHINGTON DC -- The long awaited US military attack on Iran is now on track for the first week of April, specifically for 4 AM on April 6, the Good Friday opening of Easter weekend, writes the well-known Russian journalist Andrei Uglanov in the Moscow weekly "Argumenty Nedeli." Uglanov cites Russian military experts close to the Russian General Staff for his account.
The attack is slated to last for twelve hours, according to Uglanov, lasting from 4 AM until 4 PM local time. Friday is a holiday in Iran. In the course of the attack, code named Operation Bite, about 20 targets are marked for bombing; the list includes uranium enrichment facilities, research centers, and laboratories. More:
Venezuela president calls on international community to respect Iran
The international community should respect Iran's sovereignty and prevent a possible U.S. attack against that country, Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said Sunday on a television and radio show.
"We defend the sovereignty of all nations in the world, and that is why we demand respect for Iran's sovereignty, which is in the first line of a U.S. attack," he said.
Chavez made the remarks in Hato Calleja, 630 km southeast of Caracas, in response to Russian media reports that suggested the United States would attack Iran on April 6.
He said that everyone must act to hold back the United States because "it could be Iran today, and it could be any other nation that they don't like tomorrow."
Just as the U.S. has a plan to attack Iran, it also has a plan to attack Venezuela that could be activated at any moment, he said.
He also said he hoped that "the U.S. people, Congress and other world powers can be influential in holding back the madness of U.S. imperialism."
