A few years ago, I first used the phrase "assassination of the Presidency" to express the true significance of the installation of Bush, an animatronic non-entity programmed to do the bidding of the plutocracy. Recent revelations about Karl Rove's ever expanding malevolent role lead me to reach for a broader metaphor. The Rovians are undertaking nothing less than the demolition of the White House.
The White House is a renowned symbol of an INDEPENDENT BRANCH of the United States Government. Rove has made it the headquarters of the RNC. Rove's concurrent functioning as a member of Bush's staff (with high security clearances) and a top RNC operative has erased the distinction between the White House and the RNC. The White House effectively no longer exists an independent center of power distinct from Rove's political machine.
But the problem isn't Republicans; it is Rovianism. Rove's ruthless movement toward plutocratic dominance, guided by a power elite, is anathama to the principles on which America was founded. Rove has already destroyed one presidential administration. How much more damage will Rovians be allowed to do?
- The only intellectually coherent entity in the Bush administration is the group of people controlled by Karl Rove. This group runs the Rove Regime.
- The objective of the Rove Regime is to secure single-party rule in America, reminiscent of the Mexican PRI, so that plutocrats can effectively run the country through the instrumentality of paid political retainers and propagandists.
- The Rove Regime is an existential threat to American Constitutional Government. Because of its virulent, multi-spectral attack on all the vital governing organs of our country. Rove is a killer on a mission to destroy populist democracy.
- Success of the Rove Regime's strategies is crucially dependent on maintaining the secrecy of their communications. The vast majority of Americans would recoil at the dirty details of their efforts to make regime loyalty the dominant criterion for all participation in government.
- Breaching the wall of secrecy built around the private communications of Karl Rove and his minions is a matter of national security. Until this political conspiracy is fully exposed to the light of justice and public scrutiny, the danger of future recurrence remains.
- The Republican Party needs to be permanently purged of plutocratic conspirators like Rove, or it will face political extinction.
- Americans will simply not tolerate the substitution of cronyism, bribery, intimidation, and gangster tactics for the efficient, democratic rule of law. Rovianism is a particularly malignant form of treason, and it should be dealt with as such.
