Hello, KOS nation.
My last post on KOS was about my decision to stay and fight - at least one more round - in 2008.
In that post, I mentioned our need to raise at least $50,000 this year so we can be prepared for next election. And more than a few KOS readers were kind and generous to chip-in. Thank you!
But today, one of TerriPAC's largest donors issued a challenge to us and offered to match dollar for dollar (up to her legal limit of $5,000) everything we raise by the end of the quarter - which as you know - ends at midnight March 31st - just a little more than 72 hours away!
It's a great offer and I want to make sure we take advantage of it as best as we can. We sent an email alert to the 10,000+ people on our email list this afternoon and (obviously) I'm posting it here too.
If we maximize our donor's offer and get her to write a $5,000 check, we can raise $10,000 of our $50,000 goal in just three days! And believe me, I'd like nothing more than to be able to stop raising money and get back to giving away our money and helping good candidates win.
So, if you've ever thought about making a donation to our cause, now's a great time. Every $25 becomes $50, every $100 is $200 and so on. (The legal limit for donations to federal PACs is $5,000 if someone wants to end this matching challenge right now.)
You can get in on the act of knocking this goal out right now by making a donation on-line.
Thanks to everyone here and throughout the nation for your commitment to protecting our liberty and privacy.
And, to keep you updated on the ongoing obsession of the right-wing on "the Schiavo case" as we approach the two-year anniversary, check out this public letter from "pro-life" activist Bobby Schindler where he blames Catholic Bishop Robert Lynch for Terri's death.
What did Bishop Lynch do to draw the Schindler family's ire?
The Bishop suggested in a news article that Christians and the Catholic Church have an obligation to help the homeless.
Just amazing.
Thanks again for everything.
