Questions, questions.
CNN's Michael Ware shuts down a McCain Press Conference in one motion of his hand.

Sometimes, it’s like a surreal dream. Only, instead of imagining everyone in their underpants, I imagine that people who have squandered their credibility are held to account by the folks in the front row.
Who on earth woulda’ thunk that people like John McCain could get away with making uber delusional false, incredulous statements and remain almost completely untouched by his reckless lies from the mainstream press? Were this ten years ago, I guarantee that his incessant tripe would be the top story that would lead to his concession from the Presidential Primary. But here in this Bizarro time, McCain not only gets away with it in the mainstream, but he still rides around in a bus encrusted with the “Straight Talk Express” seal.
Worse, people who have not abandoned their dutiful objectivity in the press are chided by ‘panels’ and are successfully discredited by people with absolutely no credibility like Matt Drudge.
This whole thing gives the impression that there is an overwhelming lack of savvy out there in the semi-to-non-involved public. Sure, there are plenty of folks who will never assume their political responsibilities; however, when echoes from folks like Drudge ring past their ears, it seems that they actually help, however unintentionally, to further the incredulous at the expense of the credible.
This week, I haven’t heard a peep about how Michael Ware took John McCain to school on two separate occasions. Rather, those who I consider my ‘idiot friends’ for their political ignorance have barfed up the “didya’ hear” about “that CNN guy” who “heckled McCain” (verbatim, BTW)?” I love these guys, but when I asked what state McCain was a Senator for, the room filled with abrupt silence.
I’m not worried about me, or you for that matter. The people who I worry about are those who turn on the tube and accept the nonsense that comes out of people’s mouths because it is completely unabated by the outlets who have abandoned their objectivity for whatever the hell that much more money could buy.
All things objective seem to be constantly seated in the back of the room, their hands flagged as a signal to close the interview.
Despite the bellowing of you and I, a man who lied is allowed to perpetuate his lie with another unchallenged lie and so on.
I’d raise my hand, but…
:)
