On this and other center-left sites, there is a truckload of Clintonites swearing that HRC is not a DLC candidate but a true "progressive." Yet, somehow I still have my doubts. One thing feeding these doubts is where she has always received her campaign money from. Here is a great link which shows who has been paying for HRC's success so far. Note that this link does not include donations made for the first quarter of her presidential run. That will be interesting viewing too.
A review of this information demonstrates that her biggest benefactors have been the finance industry. Since 2000, this special interest group has invested almost ten million dollars in her political races. Compare that with organized labor, which has only donated a little over $840,000.00. Looking at these numbers, one is hard pressed to conclude that HRC will be very progressive on economic justice matters.
Of course, her fans will say that nothing in these figures demonstrates how she will govern as president. But we know better, or we should. In politics, as in life, you pretty much get what you pay for.
