I found this nifty little quote from Donna Brazile, political commentator and campaign guru to Al Gore....
Political commentator Donna Brazile, who knows a thing or two about presidential elections, has some encouraging words for Richardson:
"After six years of unilateral, aggressive, bullheaded foreign policy that has succeeded only in making the United States reviled internationally, voters are eager to elect a true statesman - someone who can mend the fences so thoroughly destroyed by President Bush's pre-emptive wars and cowboy diplomacy. In this arena, Richardson has credentials unparalleled by any other presidential candidate of either party. . . .
"Richardson is far from a shoo-in, but there's a decent chance he could end up surprising a few donors who are so heavily invested in the so-called front-runners. Just as you wouldn't walk out after the first inning of a baseball game figuring you knew the final score, it would be wise to keep an eye on Richardson. He is behind, but it's only the beginning."
I would call that a strong endorsement.
Add to that the words of netroots giant Chris Bowers of MyDD...
"With perfect clarity, that is exactly the line I have been looking for from Democratic candidates for President." Richardson has steadily improved his numbers in online straw polls, and this position would seem to only bolster that momentum. Will any of the Big Three join in Richardson's pledge?
And then our own KOS...
Of all the top candidates, Richardson is the only candidate who currently advocates a complete withdrawal from Iraq. That he's also the sharpest mind on foreign policy issues isn't a coincidence.
We have, for the first time in many years, a democratic candidate who can stand shoulder to shoulder with any republican on the issues of foriegn policy and fiscal responsibility, and still is an amazing leader in progressive governance.
While the MSM has devoted itself to covering the presidential race as if it were "American Idol" the netroots community is finding little substance in the so-called "first tier" candidates and recognizing near certain loss if the nominee lacks experience and gravitas, is looking elsewhere. They have found Bill Richardson.
Seven terms in Congress with an impressive voting record.

Secretary of Energy (energy? What does ENERGY have to do with anything?)
Serving second term as New Mexico Governor (reelected by nearly 70% of the vote)
Respected by true conservatives (not these silly neocons) for his wise stewarship of public funds.
Respected by liberals for his defense of people of all walks of life.

I am a New Mexican. I am a mother of four small kids. I believe my governor, Bill Richardson, is the greatest candidate of my lifetime, and I am supporting him for President. I hope you will join me. For more information, please visit my grassroots website:
