How can you not love Wes Clark?
Taking time out from his noble effort to keep Bush Co from starting another disasterous war (h/t eve), Wes takes time to take Rudy Giuliani to the wood shed.
A recent New York magazine article on Rudy's war cred highlights just what a lightweight Giuliani is on military matters, not exactly what the War Party will want to hear about their potential 2008 Presidential candidate. But it's what Clark says that really shows how easily the Dems will trounce Giuliani if he is nominated:
"Giuliani gets a zero-zero," says General Wesley Clark, an adviser to the group. "He wasn’t willing to risk his life for his country, and he has no relevant experience that’s in any way useful to be commander-in-chief. He hosted the U.N. and had a large police force.
It's a shame that the American people weren't ready for Wes Clark's message in 2004, prefering to believe chest-thumping pundits bloviating about national strength and how the GOP and Bush were all about security. But with John Murtha taking a stand against the war when it was still a media taboo, Jim Webb eviscerating John McCain about hiding behind the troops and Clark continuing to use his bully pulpit to speak out, it's great to see Fighting Dems taking charge of the debate about our national security and our military forces.
Side note, I went back and forth about the use of the words "bitch slap" in the title. So here's a poll:
