According to the current Mouth of Sauron acting White House Press Secretary, Dana Perino, Bush is:
"...not going to accept armchair quarterbacking from Capitol Hill on the generals who are in Baghdad and around Iraq trying to prosecute this war..."
(See Karate Explosions' top of the Rec List Diary).
Of course, that a draft dodger like Bush, who gets EVERYTHING wrong feels he's a superlative "armchair quarterback, is a given.
But what of General Barry McCaffrey...
...former head of the Southern Command, who contends that "we are in a position of strategic peril that is going to take us three to five years to get out of"?
In the above-referenced article, General McCaffrey urges Congress to fund the troops (which it's trying to do) and gives Bush a couple of Friedman Units to turn the debacle around (which is what Congress has done -- 2 x 6 months is one year before we get out).
So, is McCaffrey an armchair quarterback? Does he, or Dick "5 Deferments" Cheney, have a better grip on our military situation? Or Bush?
Just wondering.
