You wondered why our casualties are hitting all time highs, around 4 killed per day?Well, the Iraqs aren't standing up; more like, they're sitting down. McClatchy:
Military planners have abandoned the idea that standing up Iraqi troops will enable American soldiers to start coming home soon and now believe that U.S. troops will have to defeat the insurgents and secure control of troubled provinces.
Training Iraqi troops, which had been the cornerstone of the Bush administration's Iraq policy since 2005, has dropped in priority, officials in Baghdad and Washington said.
Mr. Bush, you got some 'splainin' to do.
No change has been announced, and a Pentagon spokesman, Col. Gary Keck, said training Iraqis remains important. "We are just adding another leg to our mission," Keck said, referring to the greater U.S. role in establishing security that new troops arriving in Iraq will undertake.
But evidence has been building for months that training Iraqi troops is no longer the focus of U.S. policy. Pentagon officials said they know of no new training resources that have been included in U.S. plans to dispatch 28,000 additional troops to Iraq.
Oh and how about those hundreds of provincial reconstruction teams the Presidenter promised us in the great plan to save his ass Iraq? last I heard we were having trouble getting even ten of those on the boat? Am I wrong?
Can John McCain please take another trip to Iraq? I'm getting discouraged again. I feel like somebody has been lying to me. Am I wrong? Am I wrong?
When are we going to announce that tours of duty will now be continuouswith a two week summer vacation?
Mr. Bush, just yesterday we read:
In fact, U.S. forces would continue to train Iraqi troops - who, according to Mr. Bush, are supposed to be taking over the war.
And now we're "adding legs!?"
WTF?
To quote the Iraq Study Group:
"a lack of coordination by senior management in Washington," declaring that "focus, priority setting and skillful implementation are in short supply."
Mr. Bush, you got some 'splainin' to do....who's doin' the decidin' these days? who's doin' the announcerating? You gettin' tired of all this presidentin'? need somebody to take over? How about Nancy Pelosi?
oh, and by the way, since this got leaked, you aren't going to be able to blame the Democrats/Congress/supplemental appropriations bill delay for it. Just to let you know.
