Where is Kathleen Sebelius going to end up?
Kathleen Sebelius...the Kansas Democratic Party's saving grace. There is plenty of speculation of what the Gov might be up to in regards to where she might go next. She is on a lot of shortlists for Veep, rumors of a Senate run, or cabinet position in a Democratic White House. One, cross out the cabinet position because that, in my opinion is a waste of her leadership talent and beneath her. What is interesting is how the Veep-US Senate run shapes up. Sen. Sam Brownback is currently running for president and probably will not win. He is a true and tried conservative and is the darling of the conservative wing of the Republican Party. He is having money problems and doesn't have a whole lot of name recognition. Brownback, however, said that he will not run for another Senate term (for some reason I believe him-I may not agree with him on most things but he is a man of his word and has done an excellent job of bringing attention to the Darfur genocides). I think he may set his sights on Cedar Crest (KS Governor's residence) in 2010. If Sebelius isn't already a Veep nominee, I believe she will run for the Senate seat vacated by Brownback. She has state-wide name recognition, abilities to raise gobs of cash, and high approval ratings. Moran will stay in the House because he likes his district, Tiahrt doesn't have the charisma to win statewide races, and Moore enjoys his district too, and Boyda isn't going anywhere higher that soon. I believe national Democrats will give her a few minutes or maybe a premier speaking spot during the Convention in Denver. She is a rising star of the Democratic Party from the MIDWEST. Her charisma and leadership abilities are second to none and you'll be hearing about her for years to come.
