UPDATE: Thanks to Scarce, the video is now posted here.
I need some technical video/youtube help that will help ensure a MT Democratic seat stays blue in 2008. What I need is for someone (if this is technically possible) to lift the video from where it's hosted on a newspaper site and capture it so that it can be placed onto YouTube for a) wider distribution and b) permanence.
In Montana yesterday, the Republican House Majority Leader raged in front of his caucus and teenage pagesabout Brian Schweitzer. Among other things, he called Schweitzer an "S.O.B." and screamed he could "Stick it up his ass! Stick it up his ass!" re: a standard, end-of-session budget negotiation offer.
Lange's blow-up came about 90 minutes after he had met with Schweitzer to talk about an offer that Democrats considered a tax and budget compromise to end the session.
He told House Republicans he considered the offer a "bribe" and that he was standing up for his caucus and what it believes in.
"So my message to the governor is to stick it up your ass," Lange shouted angrily. "That's my message to him. Stick it up your ass."
Many of the House Republicans applauded this comment. Some, however, sat stone-faced listening to the ranting by Lange, who has expressed interest in challenging Democratic U.S. Sen. Max Baucus next year.
At one point, Lange accused Democrats of negotiating like "radical socialists" like those in the Soviet Union, North Korea and "Red China." They won't compromise or capitulate, he said.
The local NBC affiliate caught this on tape, and the Billings Gazette has it hosted on their site for the moment.
This guy also plans to run for US Senate in 2008, or potentially against Schweitzer for Governor. Obviously he’s got no chance, but it would be nice to have some insurance.
I would like to get this onto youtube so that we’re not dependent on the Gazette’s length of time hosting the (approx 2:50) video, but I have no idea how to technically do this or if it’s even possible to do so. I have to believe it is, but I need help.
Frankly, if you know how to do this yourself faster than explaining it to a newbie, want to do it, and can save it to your youtube account (and are willing to leave it up through 2008), then have at it. Post the link in reply.
