Holy shit is this funny.
See the background here. The short of it is that Doug Schoen is a Liebercrat DC "Democratic" consultant who thinks he has all the answers for winning the White House next year and wrote a book about it. He also is wrong about everything, defends Fox without disclosing that he's a paid Fox contributor, defends Big Pharma without disclosing that he's a paid shill for them, works for Republicans, and the fact that anyone would take him seriously at all is Exhibit A why we've lost for so many years.
Here's a perfect example of it. From his book's description:
Schoen illustrates how technology and politics have merged to change the political process in America and abroad. His technology strategies were critical to Bill Clinton's successful reelection campaign in 1996 and revolutionized party strategy when he helped New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg get elected. In the book he demonstrates how to utilize the latest technology to help candidates win the hearts and minds of the public.
Got that? He's written a book supposedly hip to the latest technologies and how they can be used to win "hearts and minds".
Now read Chris Bower's update to Stoller's mauling of Schoen:
I received exactly the same email Markos posted on Dailykos, word for word, requesting some front-page time for Doug Schoen. I mean, it was exactly the same, except that it was address to me instead of Markos. It is so utterly out of touch with the world of the blogosphere that it is hard to fathom. It is as though diaries don't exist, and that in order to submit an op-ed I have to be approached in the same manner of an op-ed page editor. I emailed the guy back, linking to a recent article I wrote ripping Doug Schoen, and told him that if I was interested in further debate I would write another post, and if Schoen was actually interested in further conversation that he could just post a diary (or just email me directly, which I did not actually write in my email response). I received an email back explaining that Schoen was not exactly blog savvy or something, and needed help in that regard.
Got that? The guy who writes a book supposedly telling Democrats how they can win the White House in 2008, including the use of the "latest technologies", has no freakin' clue about blogs.
Like I said, hilarious.
