I predicted a Veto over a month ago and I am sticking by my belief that this requested money is to start the next phase of the neocon plan. Iran is in the crosshairs and this administration is running out of time.
Condi Rice tipped the administrations hand to Bob Schiffer.
Murtha's comments came after Secretary of State Condi Rice told host Bob Schieffer that Bush will not only veto any Iraq funding bill that sets a timetable for withdrawal but would also reject any bill that sets "benchmarks" for the Iraqi government.
Rice said the president would not agree to a plan that penalizes Baghdad if the Iraqi government fall shorts. To do so, she said, would remove the ability of Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. military commander in Iraq, and other leaders to do their jobs.
"What we don't want to do is to tie our own hands so that we cannot act creatively and flexibly to support the very policies in Iraq that we're trying to enforce," Rice said.
BushCo has very few good options left and a new war could energize the media propaganda machine and influence those prone to patriotic jingoism.
Rep Murtha has it right. If Bush Veto's this funding bill and refuses to deal with Congress, impeachment must be put back on the table. It is the only way to stop these arrogant self-centered, power hungry imperial elitists.
