It's approximately 9:30. In two hours I'll be on my way to Churchill Downs. Normally, this is a 10 minute drive. Today will be 30 or 40 minutes, at least.
My wife will be all decked out in a Derby Hat and long "hippie" dress (not her usual style) and will look fabulous. Me, I'll be the guy with the flat wallet.
So who will be in the money today? Find out after the jump.
P.S. If you find horse racing offensive or cruel, this isn't the diary for you.
For reference, the official KD site is here.

Last year's winner (and my pick) was the tragically short-lived Barbaro coming out from the 8 spot.
There was a lot of buzz early on about Curlin, who is supposed to be a great horse. Posting at #2, however, has dampened some expections.
The sentimental favorite is Street Sense, because of ties to the late, great Barbaro (a virtual hero around these parts).
Todd Pletcher is the hot trainer and has 4 entries, Cowtown, Scat Daddy, Any Given Saturday, and Sam P. If you believe that trainers can sometimes sandbag, I haven't heard the first word about Sam P.
By the way, the Queen of England will be sitting above me today, both literally and figuratively.
Please share your Derby insights.
Hard Spun (my pick) opened some eyes earlier this week with a blazing workout.
