I responded to Crazy Michele Bachmann's floor speech on my own blog, but here I want to share with you the text of the speech. The concept is nothing new, but I found it especially shrill.

Mrs. BACHMANN:
Mr. Speaker, last night the President did what he said he was going to do for weeks now. He vetoed the Democrat supplemental that was loaded with pork, tied the hands of our generals on the ground and provided the enemy with an ill-conceived exit strategy.
As the President said last night, Mr. Speaker, "Congress passed a bill that substitutes the judgment of politicians for the judgment of our military commanders." I couldn’t agree with him more, and that’s why I opposed this supplemental, and that's exactly why he vetoed it.
Bachmann recently demonstrated that she doesn't know the difference between Shiites and Sunnis. Thanks to Bill Prendergast for the transcript from a St. Cloud Times podcast.
"Iran is the troublemaker trying to tip over apple carts all over Baghdad right now because they want America to pull out. And you know why? It's because they've already decided, that they're going to territory, they're, they're going to partition Iraq and half of Iraq, the western northern portion of Iraq is going to be called, the United, uh, uh, the, the uh, oh, I'm sorry, I can't remember the actual name of it now, but it's going to be called, um, uh, the, the, uh, uh the Iraq State of Islam, something like that. And I-I'm sorry, I-I don't have the official name, but it is meant to be the training ground for the terrorists. There's already an agreement made; they're going to get half of Iraq and that is going to be a –a terrorist free,-a terrorist safe haven zone."
We must not, as a nation, be invested in defeat. Again, I repeat, we must not, as a nation, be invested in defeat. Unilateral surrender may be the Democrats' plan, but it will not lead to a safer America.
As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, I was hoping for better investment advice from the congresswoman. For one so concerned about creating a "safer America," it’s also galling that Bachmann cast a vote against implementing more of the important recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.
Now that the veto has taken place, it is simply unacceptable for the Democrat leaders to delay any further the funding that our American troops deserve. Let’s pass a clean Iraq supplemental.
We should start a contest for the worst floor speeches...
