Could we agree to stop using the expression "Drinking the Kool-Aid?" 909 people died a gruesome death in Jonestown, Guyana from drinking the Kool-Aid, most of them children. Many were young enough that they were fed the Kool-Aid with eyedroppers. The people they most trusted, their mothers and grandmothers, gave them the Kool-Aid to drink. Elderly people who resisted were given injections.
This was not being gullible. This was not hearing what you wanted to hear. This was a group of people held hostage by madman in an isolated location where there was no escape.
This was an horrific event, unparalleled in modern American. It should not be a throw away line.
