Those of us living in L.A., gay or straight, are saddened at the fires here and relieved that Griffith Park and Catalina Island survived. Not so with that apparently unhappy heterosexual Bill Maher. Who watches this unoriginal smirking troll anyway?
Maher was "worried" on his TV show about where the L.A. gays are going to cruise now that Griffith Park has suffered a fire. I was told about this so I may not have it exactly right. I stopped watching Maher years ago when he mentioned California Assemblywoman Sheila Kuehl and Ellen DeGeneres, two out Lesbians, together and leered into the camera for yet another scummy cheap shot gaining a few dutiful snickers from his "audience."
Funny, I spend no time wondering where L.A. straights cruise. I wish them well and feel no impulse to take cheap shots. But then I'm a solvent, happy homo who doesn't need to sell his soul for fame and money.
Gee, Bill, all those supermodels in your life and you're still preoccupied with where the L.A. gays are going to cruise in Griffith Park? A purely academic curiosity? If you feel the need to switch teams, nobody will judge you. Much.
Now I'm enlightened. People actually learn from Bill Maher. Why am I surprised in a world where people allow Oprah to mine millions from their private lives while revealing nothing of hers, where Dr. Phil sells the common sense we all possess back to us for his millions, and where George Bush was reelected. And an unhappy, cold-hearted scavenger is regarded as a savvy, cool teacher. Bill Maher puts the B in Bottom Feeder. Pun intended.
