Wow, way to go Kentucky!
Democrats did their job -- giving a clear victory to progressive Steve Beshear over regressive McConnell/Fletcher/DLC/Doug Schoen friend Brian Lundsford:
Beshear 40.9
Lunsford 21.4
Henry 17.5
Miscellaneous others got the rest of the votes.
And Republican voters did what they do best -- choosing the most corrupt of their choices:
Fletcher 50.1
Northup 36.5
Harper 13.4
The vaunted McConnell "machine" could only scrape 36.5 percent against an indicted, unpopular governor? Hilarious! Now he'll likely face retaliation from the state's Fletcher Republicans during his own re-election battle.
As for Fletcher, Republican Anne Northup has already told us how Beshear is going to win that race:
Not to get complacent, but if Kentucky Democrats put in the effort, it won't even be close.
Update: More bad news for Republicans --
348,759 Democrats cast votes in the Democratic primary.
202,131 Republicans cast votes in theirs, despite being a higher-profile race.
So which side is energized, and which side is phoning it in?
