We’re gearing up for our third and final auction before the 2007 YearlyKos Convention! We hope to have many more items in this auction then we have had before! In order to accomplish that, we are looking for volunteers to donate more of their fantastic possessions. In the previous two auctions Kossacks have donated jewelry, books, political memorabilia, hand sewn or knitted items, soaps, prints, and everyone’s favorite – horse semen!
We have some items already donated for June, including Keith Olbermann items, a couple things from Ambassador Wilson, John Edward’s book, and Live Earth tickets! We need plenty more items to auction off! If you would like to help raise funds for the YearlyKos Convention this August, please contact auctions at yearlykosconvention dot org!
In February and April we had the opportunity to showcase jewelry, photography, and textiles, all created by fellow Kossacks. The DailyKos readership has a vast array of skills, and has graciously donated some of their creations to the YearlyKos auctions. We even had books written by Kossacks for auction! Sadly, we are very light in the Kossack-created items this time. It would be a terrible shame to have an auction where all we had to offer were books, programs, and buttons all by politicians. It would be so...political!
Where is the whimsy? Where are the works of art (or kitsch)? Where are the pooties?
Please, please, please, do not let us have a serious and droll auction! Contact us and let us know what cool completely apolitical item you own that you would like to donate! Of course, if all you have to donate are nifty political items, I would never turn them down. But really, would you want to face fellow Kossacks and tell them we’re having a pootie-free auction? Yeah, I didn’t think so...
If you would like more information regarding why we are having a YearlyKos eBay Auction Fundraiser, please read the following (or, if you are so eager to donate you just can’t finish this paragraph, please skip to the bottom): YearlyKos Convention - n. yier-lee-KOS k&n-'ven(t)-sh&n An annual convention gathering people from all walks of life who belong to the Netroots community, the US-based (but globally focused and inclusive) non-partisan grassroots political action community that uses the Internet and blogs as primary tools for: expressing viewpoints, building consensus, acting to change the status quo, mobilizing huge numbers of people and informing each other and the world about current events, grassroots actions, networks, meetings, policy and more. The YearlyKos Convention is a project of bloggerpower.org with the generous support of the Netroots Arts and Education Initiative (NAEI).
If you would like to offer a donation for our upcoming auction, please contact us at auctions at yearlykosconvention dot org, or you can use the contact form on the YearlyKos Convention site.
