Kossacks have been considering action to take to help Democrats be Democrats, to make good on their campaign promises -- or at least function as a real alternative to BushCo. See: http://www.dailykos.com/... and http://www.dailykos.com/...
Many of those who commented congratulated them on their work but wished there were a searchable database that would let people look at priorities, states, districts, etc. In the interest of helping move the ball forward, I created that database in M$ Access and exported it to Excel. I also created a codebook for the dataset.
(Below the fold for link to database files and details...)
The first Word doc is plf515's list of potential targets. The second Word document is the codebook that explains the numerical coding for a few of the variables (fields). For example:
1= Not a priority
2= Moderate priority
3= High priority
4= Highest priority (or GO GET 'EM)
The .xls file is the spreadsheet. Here's the link to these files:
Could somebody please compare the info in plf515's original document and see if there are any typos? Also check for any mistakes I may have made in the way I summarized the information from that diary.
Finally, if you have information about the Congressional members listed, their districts, or other information you think should go into the database, please email me at roadette@roadette.com. (I have left a field open for user comments that may not be easily categorized.)
In all these circumstances, I will add or correct the info to a master database and re-post.
Happy Highways
