A panel of the renowned "Conference on World Affairs" in Boulder was held at a local high school. The panel concerned "STDs: Sex, Teens and Drugs," and severals panelists advocated a less-than-conservative approach to such things. A parent objected. It got some local coverage. Then O'Reilly decides to stir things up. A Fox camera crew ambushed the School Board President, etc. etc. The Boulder Daily Camera newspaper reports this morning that O'Reilly's followers are now harassing school officials -- for example, one sent an email to an official stating that torture and murder are good "revenge" options against him.

Having not seen the "Factor" show, I cannot say if his treatment of the topic was sensational or unfair (somehow, I wouldn't be surprised if it was). And certainly O'Reilly and other media outlets can choose to cover this sort of story. But if nothing else this morning's article tells us a great deal about the sort of person who watches the O'Reilly program (and takes it serious).
