Isn't it ironic that in light of the hysterical charges by the right wing during the tense vote count of the 2000 election, that the Democrats were actively attempting to disenfranchise servicemen---a charge later proved bogus, by the way----that here we are in 2007 and lo and behold:
It is the Republicans actively disenfranchising servicemen----African-Americans, almost exclusively-----by a sleazy technique known as "caging."
[Nice work, Greg!
Leave it to Greg Palast to get hold of e-mails conclusively proving resigned and disgraced US Attorney Tim Griffin's involvement in this appalling and illegally partisan scheme.
In the scheme, absent soldiers are sent notifications to which they must respond to verify their eligibility. But naturally, they can't respond because they're deployed overseas. So Bingo---whoops, there goes another Democrat voter.
In my opinion, a mere resignation is not sufficient. Griffin's actions verge into criminal territory as he illegally used the resources of his Justice Department office to advance a partisan political agenda.
