Ok, title is stupid, but it came first to mind after watching the "news" on CNN less than 1/2 hour ago.
Watch the video, more after the fold
Kiran Chetry gives a short blurb about Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in Indiana with little details on June 4, 2007 at 6:48am EST.
The anchor called it Creutzfeldt-Jakob (mispronouncing it) and did not mention this human disease's similarity with Mad Cow disease (Bovine spongiform encephalopathy).
Kiran didn't even state if it was Classic CJD, or the new variant that has a much lower median age of death and which has been associated with "Mad Cow" desease.
You would think with the recent story about the USDA fighting to keep meatpackers from testing all their animals for Mad Cow disease, that this kind of story would get a little more play. Apparently, 1% testing is just dandy, especially for the larger meat producers. Testing to protect humans would cut too much into the bottom line.
What a pointless "news" story. Couldn't CNN take a few seconds off of Paris Hilton going to jail stories to let us people know what the hell is going on? There were 3 stories on Paris Hilton in the time it took me to upload my video and write this tiny diary.
