So anyway, I'm an American. And as such, I automatically find the international road signs to be strange, confusing, and possibly guilty of witchcraft.
However, there's one that I've seen a few times during my study-abroad stint in Germany that, in my humble opinion, is the Best. Road Sign. Ever!!
Take a gander below.
I was in the village of Bad Sobernheim with my girlfriend partaking in the Barfussphad (Bare-foot path) that is a 3.5 km "massage" for your feet. Trying to find our way back to the station we got disoriented (but not lost since we knew how to get back to where we took the wrong turn) and it was here I re-encountered this particular sign while having a camera. So, without further adieu, here it is:
Yes. In this small German village, nearly in the middle of nowhere, is a weight restriction sign for tanks. Now, the autobahn is pretty damn cool, but I didn't know that in Germany people could 1. buy and 2. drive around tanks.
Or perhaps this is just in case they're invaded by Luxembourg. The next Luxembourgish equivalent of General Patton will be directing his forces deeper into Germany only to come to this sign and have his entire advance thwarted because his tanks are 1,000 kg over weight!
Now, if anyone knows what this sign means, feel free to share. In the meantime, happy hump day!
