Like most people without children, I have turned my pooties and dogs into child substitutes. As any parent will tell you, children often teach you as much as you instruct them. Arno, the dog, has formed some simple easy principles that even a Republicans and extreme red staters can learn. He thought perhaps our problem in trying to converse with them might be that we are simply too sophisticated in our analysis and the message was becoming blurred.
Arno On Diplomacy
Sharing the same place with those of a different color, creed, religion, species, and political belief is not as hard sharp ideologues might have us believe.
Arno has learned that if he sits politely and does not jump up, bark, and fuss he will get fed quickly. Turns out being polite does have the occasional pay off. Being rude, say for example, eating the pootie food seems to cause upset.
It turns out you get this look:
Some kind of conflict tends to arise. Let's recap, if you go into the pootie's space without an invitation and take all of their stuff, they might get annoyed and try and defend themselves. It can really escalate into anything.
Chaos makes Arno a bit pensive and sad.
On the other hand, Arno has a much bigger water bowl than the pooties and it is in a convenient location. He has learned that if he shares the big water bowl, everybody tends to be satisfied and it turns out the big water bowl actually does have enough for everybody.
If Arno corners the pooties and chases them under the table when they want to drink from the water bowl, they tend to get pissed off.
They might need some time but they will plot revenge and we will be back to anger and chaos.
Arno On Religion
It turns out that Arno has no substantive preference for one Deity over another. This one has about as much impact on him as any other.
The wooden rabbit Deity doesn't seem to start as much trouble as the other two.
Arno On the Environment
It turns out that a surprising number of species enjoy the great outdoors, even the humans. The main difference between the humans and everybody else is that they say it is important but then they do some really odd things that make Arno wonder about the whole commitment thing.
In essence, Arno finds that playing in this is much less fun, than romping around this.
Arno was worried that if he got too theoretical and esoteric the Republican humans and the mega red state humans might find it all hard to follow so he asked me to keep it very simple.
