Two radical anti-choice groups are looking to honor Paul Hill this July. Hill was executed in 2003 for the murder of Dr. John Britton and James Barrett at an abortion clinic in 1994. The event is sponsored by Children Need Heroes, Street Preach, and of course The Paul Hill Memorial (I'm not going to link). The press release says that:
George L. Wilson of Children Need Heroes and Drew Heiss of Street Preach are planning to honor Paul Hill in a series of events called "Paul Hill Days" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, July 26th - 29th -- "to honor him as God's man and our hero."
On July 29, 1994 Paul Hill, who sought to set a good example for Christian theocratic revolutionaries, assassinated abortion provider Dr. John Britton and James Barrett one of his escorts, and seriously wounding another, June Barrett, outside an abortion clinic in Pensacola, Florida.

Where is the outrage from the one-percenters over this!? This man was a convicted terrorist. He killed two people in cold blood, and these people want to celebrate his life. Part of the festivities will actually include a reenactment of the murders! These people are sick and disturbed. Look how they refer to their hero:
On July 29th, 1994, Paul Hill boldly defended 31 babies from unspeakable violence by killing a paid assassin and his bodyguard. He was arrested, given a sham trial, and executed as a martyr. On the 13th anniversary of Paul Hill’s act of love and mercy, memorial events will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to honor him as God’s man and our hero.
Act of love and mercy? I don't care what you think about abortion and choice, but anyone who can find love and mercy in the cold-blooded killing of two people is seriously disturbed.
The government is spying on frickin' Quakers and environmental groups, but these vile people are allowed to run amock, and hold reenactments of terrorist acts!? This is utterly insane. The fact that they have the gall to show up in public and defend a terrorist is beyond me. Where are the right-wing blowhards on this? They are so quick to give up their civil liberties for "security", but this group of hatemongers gets a free pass? I guess I'm not really surprised, but I am outraged.
These radical groups fully understand that Paul Hill's real mission wasn't to just murder a single doctor at an abortion clinic. His goal was to make every doctor at every abortion clinic scared for his/her safety. His goal was to strike fear in the hearts of every doctor who might consider performing abortions. This festival is just another way to show that they have numbers, and doctors should be scared for their lives.
This all links back to what Meteor Blades laid out earlier this month. Essentially, the threat of violent right-wing extremists in real, and it is often ignored.
The threat of these extremists must be brought to light. This festival must be protested heavily, and every thinking citizen near Milwaukee should be fighting to keep these hateful people from spreading terror in their city. So, go out and write the media, and write letters to the editor. These people must be exposed. Any and all action items to stop these people or at least shine a brighter light on their hatred and violence would be appreciated.

Update: I see that we made the Recommended Diary list. That is awesome. This needs to get some attention. What do people think about a blog swarm on anti-choice violence for July 26th? It would be a good way to get the message out. Let me know in the comments.
Update II: Algere recommended using the DNC LTE tool to make writing letters more effective. It's a great idea.
